Lovely Crown Point - 2/29/2012
I moved to Crown Point, NY from Orlando 4 years ago. It is VERY small, but the most charming and wonderful place I could imagine there being. Lake Champlain is amazing, with longer winters you have ice fishing, snow mobiling, cross country skiing, snoe showing, winter hiking is the BEST. And in the summers people run outside to enjoy the 70-80 degree weather, gorgeous skies, sparkling lakes everywhere! My impression is most people enjoy outdoor sports and activities and being in nature. We see animals almost daily from bunnies to deer to bald eagles. The people are so kind and thoughtful - some are small minded, but for the most part you see nothing but kindness. People will go out of their way to help you, even if it is as big as opening their home or letting you borrow a car. NO CRIME at all, most keep their doors unlocked. You do have to travel to go shopping, an hour in any direction to a "bigger" city, but my husband and I pack a lunch and make it a road trip! You learn
